Job Description
Primal Pet Group is seeking an energetic, passionate, and steadfast individual to join our team to serve the Northern California and Nevada Market. This position is responsible for increasing retail availability, awareness, recommendation, and consumption of Primal Pet Group products in an assigned territory. This includes prospecting and generating new commercial business at the retailer and distributor levels. 

 

  • Develop a strong network of relationships with retailers, distributor personnel and influencers, maximizing your impact and remain plugged into everything that's happening in your market.
  • Open new retail accounts.
  • Expand the assortment of Primal Pet Group products available at existing retail accounts.
  • Train existing and new retail accounts on the features and benefits of Primal Pet Group’s products, as well as how to recommend them to consumers. Identify and train at least one retail associate per location to be in store “expert” on the Primal brands.
  • Leverage distributor resources including sales personnel, thereby increasing your influence in the market, executing effective placement of promotions, and driving initial product trial.
  • Help ensure sufficient distributor inventory levels are in place and confirm retailer satisfaction with distribution partners.
  • Identify the best retailer and community events to attend and/or support utilizing the Primal Demo Team.
  • Manage available resources effectively to deliver maximum results.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Pet Food Industry brands and products.
  • Previous Sales experience in Pet or Natural Foods preferred.
  • Strong Presentation and facilitation skills. 
  • Listens well and gets clarification, responding appropriately to questions.
  • Self-starter in an independent environment.
  • Strong organizational skills: managing multiple tasks and imperatives.
  • Effective budget management and attention to detail.
  • Goal oriented with a track record of success.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
Special Requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of schedule within the Northern CA, Bay Area and Nevada area.
  • Availability to work nontraditional hours including some weekends and evenings based on operational need.
  • Primal is accepting applicants that reside in Northern CA.
