Job Summary

Our Team floaters have a unique opportunity to learn all positions on the line.  They float where needed and backup and roles on their line. Production Floater will assist the employees to ensure they are fully resourced and adhere to processes necessary for the completion of daily production requirements, compliance with all food safety requirements, and adherence to GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).  In this capacity, follows all procedures related to quality, efficiency, and safety.  Additionally, the Floater will also train and backfill all positions for their team, including Production worker, Machine Op, Quality Tech, Lead, etc.
 

Responsibilities and Duties

The Line Operator is responsible for carrying out various warehouse activities including QA, Lead, Material Handler, Machine Operator, etc. in order to maintain a continuous backup of all production team functions as needed.

  • Startup and stop equipment.
  • Assist with production.
  • Cleans production area sweep, mop, and remove debris.
  • Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
  • Feed or place items onto equipment for processing.
  • Mix, measure, and pour ingredients. Ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Turn valves to regulate the flow of liquids or gas.
  • Mark parts for identification and record data.
  • Place equipment on the conveyor belt for further processing.
  • Scrape waste material from the machine.
  • Load and unload processing equipment.
  • Package finished products.
  • Take instructions from supervisors.
  • Efficiently and safely move product to the proper area for use following all department and QA procedures.
  • Sorting, wrapping, packing, repacking as needed.  Transfer finished goods pallets to the holding freezer.
  • Return raw materials, WIP’s or packaging materials to the respective department or location in accordance with the department’s procedures for receiving and returning materials.
  • Proper housekeeping throughout the shift and in all departmental areas.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Less than high school education; at least 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

  • Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide and understand percentages. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement and quantity measurements.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.
 

Pay Rate

$19.50-$20.50 an hour

+$1.00 differential pay for hours worked on 2nd shift.
+$1.25 differential pay for hours worked on 3rd shift


Schedule

  • 1st shift start time varies between 4am-5am.
  • 2nd shift start time varies between 12p-2:30pm
  • 3rd shift start time 8pm

Candidates must be flexible to work daily overtime and 6th-day overtime as needed.
