Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performing physical and visual inspections of product and plant systems then documenting.
  • Be a proactive participant in identifying potential issues in all phases of operations.
  • Taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management.
  • Calibration accuracy checks of monitoring and measuring devices (Thermometers, Scales)
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
Pre-operation inspections
  • Perform pre-operational inspection and verification (ATP) prior to the start of shifts or after
  • cleaning and sanitation.
​​​​​​​Preventative Control/Critical Control Point
  • Conduct hourly PC and CCP checks.
  • Respond to problems quickly and efficiently.
Finished Product
  • Ensure the packaging, the product, and the labeling all line up appropriately.
  • Ensures that specifications are met on all fronts.
  • Collect samples from operating lines for finished product testing. Conduct physical release of the finished product, identify and properly physically put the product on hold.
  • ERP system, web-based lab submission, spreadsheets
  • Be willing to learn new methods and procedures.
  • Be aware of and adhere to FDA and FSMA regulations and guidelines.
  • Comply with GMPs, HACCP and other Food Safety, quality, and security guidelines and strictly adhere to all Primal Pet
  • Health and Safety guidelines.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Must be flexible, even-tempered, a good mediator, and persuasive. Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to interpret basic technical instructions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Competency in computer word processing (MS Word) and spreadsheet (Excel) preferred.
  • HACCP trained or PCQI-Animal certified (will offer training if needed)
  • Demonstrate the ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.
  • Have excellent work and attendance record and attend all meetings as required, flexible schedule as needed (some Saturdays).
  • Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in food manufacturing food safety and quality position in a / USDA / FDA / FSQA-related facility.
  • Ability to read and understand English.   

 
Schedule
Monday through Saturday 5-day work week on 1st shift
Pay Rate
$20-$22.50
